Russians, A new Frenchman & and a Secretive Manager

Posted by HomerZero in Arsenal Tralee

First off . TangoMan (D.Dein) has sold his share of Arsenal for 75m to a
Russian billionaire. Dein will head up this company (Red & White) to try to
secure as many shares as he can to oust the current board . I hope this does
not happen I do not want our club to be another Russian Billionaire’s
Plaything. Things have not changed as it stands just tango is 75m richer .

Arsene again sealed a secretive deal signing Lassana Diarra on deadline day
for an undisclosed fee on a long tern contract.
This eases my worries a little.

In an interview Arsene said next week there would be news on his contract.
What’s all the secrecy about Mr. Wenger can you not just tell us FFS. I
hope that he is only playing games with the press and not building up for
the big let down . I personally think he has agreed to sign but is just
having a laugh.

That’s it for a couple of weeks . If you want to sign up for the forum
registrations will be open again on Tuesday 18th September

Who to pick in goals is sorted out for the Moment as Jens has hurt his ankle and will be out for a few weeks (I think he dropped something on it)

It is up to Almunia now to prove himself. If he can have a decent couple of games he should make if difficult for Lehman to claim back his place…

It would be good to inflict the first defeat of the season on the league leaders to further improve the confidence of the team and of course march up the table.

Denmark 0 - 4 Ireland

Nice win for the national team last night its good to score a hatful of goals especially away from home . The Danes were brutal though
..From an Arsenal point of view Bendtner hit the woodwork a couble of times (he should have scored both times) . I didn’t see the england / grermany game but Jens wasn’t supposed to be Brillant and he dropped another clanger by all accounts.

Butterfingers

Arsene said“Of course Jens is really unhappy with it. He is really down in the dressing room. I don’t need to tell him he made a mistake, he is an intelligent boy and he knows that. We do not want to blame him today. We just want to take the positives from our behaviour.”

I say this is too much time for a spell on the bench for Jens. Last week 50 seconds into the Premier League he gives away a goal and again yesterday old BUTTERFINGERS lets in another soft one . the rest of the team must be really p***ed off with him after battling ( it was a bruising game) to hold on to the lead . there was no 90th minute goal from Hleb so we (Jens) dropped two point . With Manure losing and Chavski and the Dippers drawing it would have be nice to have full points .

Champions League

Posted by HomerZero in Arsenal Tralee

Another good night, a job well done. We =
didn’t look
our usual selves last night the game was very disjointed and the passing =
for
the most part was poor. But we got the job done and even better the shortage of goals from our midfielders that we suffered last year has been banished. (I know Hleb was playing up front). A goal this early in the season for Cesc should do his confidence a power of good ands what about the 90 min specialist Alexander 2 goals already I think this is going to be a massive season for him (we never doubted his talent did we lads
)
..it was great to see the two full backs make the goals with great runs and superb passes.

Arsene Said that he would sign a new contract “soon” and added that that soon meant in the next few days not months. This is as expected but until he signs we will remain nervous.

We are already 1 point clear of united with a game in hand it would be nice to be in that position next May

Champions League

Posted by HomerZero in Arsenal Tralee

Big night tonight folks. Very important that we have a good game and sort
out qulaification for the champions league. It should be much the same team
as Saturday as none of our injured players have recovered yet and have not
travelled to Prague. Hoyte and Traore have been added to Sundays 16.

Speaking of champions league SPUDS now look like they are heading for the
championship( rather than the Champions league place that is the height of
their ambitions) after a 3-1 defeat to Everton left them firmly rooted to
the bottom :)

Arsenal 2 - 1 Fulham

Posted by HomerZero in Arsenal Tralee

We left it late but the first 3 points are in the bag thanks to a RVP penalty on 83 mins and a Hleb goal at the very end to cancel Healy’s opener (52 Seconds ) . Maybe things are really looking up . When this happened last season the best we were capable of was a draw . Tony has some good pics from Friday night . i will have them up as soon as he drops them over . We can enjoy the rest of the weekend thanks to the late winners from Hleb and Tomas O Se.

AGM

Posted by HomerZero in Arsenal Tralee

There was a good turnout last night for the A.G.M. And a good night was had
by all. Maybe too good. If you missed the meeting you can down your welcome pack here
http://rapidshare.com/files/48001268/AGM_10_august_2007.pdf

Arsne Wenger held his first pre-game press conference in which he said

“We know we have quality, we know we have a style of play, we know we
Have a hunger and we know how we have prepared. We have created a Strong
belief, we have a great solidarity in the squad and we know that’s what
matters now. That is why we are so keen to show it. It is the pride of the
champions to come and show how good you are and I believe this team wants to
show that.I always look at my team and what we need to be strong. And I feel
we are strong, I don’t feel we need more. But we are always listening. If
something comes up we have the funds to do it, but we don’t have a special
need.”

so it looks like we are not chasing anyone at the moment . it is the view of
most members last night that we need to sign a couple of players but i feel
if we can stay relativly injury free we will be OK . Better than OK even , i
believe that we can chalenge for honours this season.

thats it from me this morning . time to get better (Ouch my head hurts)
